Using a CT scan of the patient's own facial skeleton, the implant is digitally designed and manufactured to fit the mandible precisely, allowing the chin, jaw angles and mandibular border to be augmented as a single, harmonious unit.
Computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) has made it possible to plan the exact thickness, projection and contour of the implant before surgery.
